Sherifa's father died leaving her mother to support the family alone. Her mother is very ill from HIV/AIDS. She is unable to work and depends on the support of neighbors. Sherifa has four siblings. Sherifa is consistenlty in the top five of her class in school. Education is Sherifa's best hope for a life filled with possibility.
