Rebecca's parents both abandoned her during the war on Mt. Elgon. Now Rebecca lives with a foster family of subsistence farmers. They earn around $5 per month. Rebecca does not have biological siblings, but she does have foster siblings. She enjoys playing soccer and jumping rope. Rebecca struggles academically and needs extra encouragement and patience. Education is Rebecca's only hope to break free fron the cycle of poverty.
