Noel comes from a hardworking family. His father is a small-scale farmer, but harsh weather conditions often make it difficult to grow enough food to feed the family. His mother is a street vendor, but her income is unreliable. Their limited income makes it difficult to provide the family’s basic necessities, and there are times when they have only one meal a day or go to bed hungry. Education is Noel's best hope for a life filled with possibility.
