Mark’s family lives in extreme poverty. His parents have no formal education or job training and work as day laborers when work is available. Because work is scarce and their income is unreliable, they are often only able to provide one meal a day, and the family frequently goes to bed hungry. Mark and his three brothers, suffer from malnutrition and poor health. Education is Mark's best hope for a brighter future.
