Leon’s father passed away leaving his mother to care for the family alone. She was unable to care for Leon and his five siblings on her own. As a result, they moved in with his grandmother. His mother and grandmother sell produce on the roadside, but their income is unreliable and not enough to meet the needs of the household. Education is Leon's best hope to break free from the cycle of poverty.
