Since Jerryvine's parents divorced, her mother has struggled to make ends meet for the family. Jerryvine's mother cannot find work in the village and is currently unemployed. The pandemic has made finding even odd jobs incredibly scarce. Jerryvine dreams of finishing school and becoming a teacher, although school fees have not been possible for her mother to pay.
