Jay’s life has been filled with adversity. His mother gave birth to him when she was very young and unprepared for the responsibilities of raising a child. Today, Jay and his mother live with his elderly grandparents, who do their best to support the family but struggle to provide even the most basic necessities. Often, there isn’t enough food to go around.  Education brings Jay one step closer to a brighter future.
