Ivy's father abandoned the family due to their vulnerability and hunger. Ivy is one of seven children, and they have all been out of school due to lack of fees. Ivy's mother works odd jobs in the village, but she rarely earns more than $1 per day. She is not able to meet the basic needs of the huge family. Sponsorship would help Ivy pursue her education without fear of dropping out.
