Hellen is fortunate to have both parents. Her father lives in another city to work, while her mother works as a street vendor with an unreliable income. Together, they struggle to provide for Hellen and her siblings. Hellen is a well-behaved girl who enjoys learning and doing her best in school. Education is Hellen's best hope to break free from the cycle of poverty.
