Gloria comes from a hardworking family facing significant financial challenges. Her father is a carpenter but steady work is hard to find and his salary is undependable. Her mother has diabetes and lost one leg due to complications from the disease. She requires ongoing medication and assistance with daily activities Her father’s limited income is not enough to cover the family’s basic needs and on going medical expenses. Education is Gloria's only hope for a brighter future.
