Faith was born into a situation of poverty. They are described as having "abject want," as they are missing many of their basic needs like daily food, decent clothing, and access to steady education. Faith's parents have no education. They rely on odd jobs and subsistence farming to survive. Faith's dream is to complete her education and one day become a doctor.
