Ezra is blessed to live with both of his parents. His father works as a day laborer, but steady employment is difficult to find, and his income is often uncertain. His mother faithfully cares for the family at home. Although his parents work hard to provide for Ezra and his two siblings, their limited resources often mean the family has only one meal a day, and some nights they go to bed hungry. Education is Ezra's best hope for a life filled with opportunity.
