Life is difficult for Estrella and her family. Her parents cannot find regular work. They struggle to provide for Estrella and her three siblings. They often eat only one or two meals per day. Estrella has never had running water or electricity in her home. Estrella has only known generations of hunger and desperation, but she dreams of becoming a doctor and making a better future for herself.
