Eleazar is a sweet boy who loves to learn. His father works as a day laborer, but steady work is difficult to find. His mother stays home to care for Eleazar and his brother. Despite their efforts, the family struggles to afford basic necessities. Many nights, they eat only one meal a day, and sometimes they go to bed hungry. Education is Eleazar's best hope to break free from the cycle of poverty.
