Dolesther is a bright and hardworking student who loves learning and going to school. Her father works as a day laborer, but consistent work is difficult to find and his income is unreliable. Her mother is a street vendor whose earnings are also unpredictable. Despite their best efforts, the family struggles to provide enough food for their children, let alone afford their education. Education is Dolesther's best hope to break the cycle of poverty.
