Clara goes by her middle name Jasmin. Her father is a day laborer, but steady work is hard to come by and his income is unreliable. Her mother, stays home to take care of Jasmin and her one-year-old sister. Despite their limited income, her parents struggle to provide for their children and meet their needs. Education is Clara's best hope to break the cycle of poverty.
