Biden’s life is filled with hardship. His father, Stephen, survived a tragic road accident that claimed the lives of five other passengers. Although he lived, the physical and emotional toll has been devastating. Stephen has been unable to work since the accident and has exhausted all his resources on treatment. Biden’s mother, Nelly, stays home to care for him and his five siblings. There are too many nights the family goes to bed hungry. Education is Biden's only hope to break free from the cycle of poverty.
