Life in the slums is so difficult for Ambar. Her father is not in her life. Her mother sells tortillas to provide for Ambar and her sister. They often eat only one or two meals per day. Ambar has no money for a school uniform or school supplies. Ambar has only known hardship and hunger, but she dreams of one day becoming a lawyer and making a better future for herself.
